Palestinian-American Adolescent Freed Following Nine-Month Period in Israel's Custody

An American-Palestinian youth after completing 270 days in Israel's custody without charge gained freedom.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested in February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, claims he consistently denied.

The US state department expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.

Mohammed, now 16, required hospitalization right after being freed, family members reported.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

Through an official statement, the youth's uncle conveyed their "tremendous relief".

Family member Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Right now, our priority is providing Mohammed with urgent medical care necessary for his recovery following exposure to Israel's abuse and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.

{"American leadership gives utmost importance than the safety and security of American nationals"," it added.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the White House, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business based in Tampa, had earlier stated his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

He had not seen nor direct contact since February, receiving updates exclusively about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment in Ofer prison on the West Bank.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, per correctional service statistics.

After the teenager's freedom, Mr Kadur said they would maintain their efforts demanding accountability for their family member Sayfollah Musallet.

The dual national youth who the Palestinian health ministry said was beaten to death by Israeli settlers amid clashes during summer.

Initially, defense forces stated officials were investigating reports a Palestinian civilian had died.

Both young men collaborated at their family's ice cream business based in Florida.

No indictments occurred with Sayfollah's killing.

"We demand the American government to protect our families," Mr Kadur said.
