Miami put up eighty-six opening half points versus the Memphis Grizzlies
Miami Heat earned a overwhelming 146 to 114 win over the Grizzlies in their first NBA game after guard Rozier was arrested over suspected illegal sports betting.
Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups was also arrested in connection with a broad FBI investigation into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the allegations.
But, the Heat were focused as they recorded 86 opening half points to lead the Grizzlies by 39 at halftime, the biggest halftime lead in the team's 37 year history.
Adebayo led the way with 24 scores and afterwards said Terry had the team's full backing.
"We stand behind him. Full support," Adebayo said. "We are with him all the way. He's like family ultimately."
Heat coach Spoelstra added: "Rozier is a person who is very dear to everyone. He has made a real positive impact on our team.
"Our thoughts are with him and our care for him as he goes through the situation."
Portland also secured their first game since the detentions, with Brazilian Tiago Splitter stepping in as temporary head coach in Chauncey's non-attendance and leading the squad to a convincing 139-119 victory over the Golden State Warriors.
"Everyone experienced positive times with Billups and his coaching style," Splitter remarked. "We're thinking of him and his family but we have a job to do."
Speaking about the arrests for the initial occasion, league head Adam Silver said he was "very upset" by the incidents of the past few days.
"There's nothing more important to the NBA and its fans than the fairness of the game," he told a broadcaster. "Therefore I felt uneasy. It was disturbing."
The commissioner further mentioned an league probe into the player's actions in March 2023, when there was "unusual wagering" in a match he participated for the Charlotte Hornets versus the Pelicans, found nothing untoward.
"We were informed by the regulators and the betting companies," he added.
"We then looked into the matter and were very transparent about it. Although there was the unusual wagering, we, frankly, found no evidence.
"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can do all kinds of things that the NBA is unable to.
"So, we've been working with them since then. And, of course, what they revealed yesterday was an indictment.
"And 30 months after, he has not been found guilty of any offense, in justice to Terry.
"Obviously, it doesn't look good, but he's been suspended, and so it is a compromise in this case between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."
In other games, Los Angeles Lakers star Doncic recorded more than 40 points for the second game straight to start the season.
Following scoring forty-three scores in a first loss to the Golden State, the Slovenian achieved forty-nine points - to go with 11 rebounds and 8 passes - as the Lakers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-110.
Greek player Antetokounmpo also had a big night with 31 points, twenty boards and 7 passes in the Bucks' 122-116 win over the Raptors.
Houston Rockets were beaten 115 to 111 by the Detroit Pistons even with thirty-seven scores from Durant, while Wembanyama had 29 scores, eleven rebounds and nine blocks in the Spurs' overtime win against the Pelicans.
