The 43rd annual Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Best Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's success, its gifted actors also received individual awards. Jennifer English received Top Lead Actor for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr took home Best Supporting Actor for his acting as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was named Top Studio. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its creative team achieved 7 awards during the show.
Other major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Top Sound Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are chosen by the gamers, with only 4 special—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
