A review has identified that nearly 90 flights associated to Jeffrey Epstein reportedly touched down at and left British airports, with some allegedly transporting British women who claim they were exploited by the found guilty sex offender.
The travel manifests were among a trove of court documents and papers made public by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been released over the past year. The review uncovered 87 aircraft movements tied to Epstein â including many that were hitherto undisclosed â landing or taking off from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Unidentified women were listed among the travelers flying to and from the UK. Significantly, 15 of these UK flights occurred following Epsteinâs 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a underage person.
âThis is âappallingâ that there had never been a âcomprehensive British inquiryâ into his activities in the country,â said American attorneys acting for numerous Epstein victims.
Testimony from one of the British victims was instrumental in convicting Epsteinâs associate socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. But, that survivor has not been approached by British law enforcement, according to her attorney based in Florida.
In a statement, the the Met stated they had ânot been provided with any additional evidence that would support reopening the investigation.â They added, âIf fresh and pertinent information be brought to our attention, including any resulting from the release of material in the US, we will assess it.â
Proposed legislation to disclose every document held by the US government in concerning Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. A vast number of files are projected to be made public.
Separately, a federal judge ruled last week that the department could publicly release evidence from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epsteinâs longtime confidante, who is serving a 20-year jail term over the allegations.
